David Tennison Cook, 77

March 18, 1948  –  December 10, 2025

Okolona-David Tennison Cook, 77, departed this life from NMMC in Tupelo on Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2025. He was 77 years old. Born in Chickasaw County in the Shake Rag Community on March 18, l948 to the late Tennison Cook and Wilma Cook, he lived in his native county all his life. A Methodist, David worked for over 40 years in various capacities with the Rose Hill Company, headquartered in Okolona. He was a master furniture finisher/carpenter whose work was always pleasing and respected by the late Billy Hughes, owner of the company, who always depended on David to ready the Rose Hill display at Furniture Markets. A born outdoorsman, David spent a life time hunting and fishing the lakes and streams of Chickasaw County where he seldom came home without food for the family and friends.

A time of visitation, with no formal service, will take place Sunday afternoon, December 14, 2025 from 2 PM-3PM at the Okolona Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors, 300 West Main St., Okolona, MS. The family will cherish having his cremains in an urn that features the outdoors and hunting. Holland Funeral Directors-Okolona is honored to be serving the family.

David is survived by his wife, Cathy of Okolona; his son, Tim Cook and wife, Sally of Serepta, MS; a brother, Mike Cook and wife, Kim of Okolona; numerous nieces and nephews and in-laws as well as their extended families. David was preceded in death by his parents; Tennison and Wilma Cook and his siblings; James Carl Cook, Harry Cook, and Vicki Cook Fair.
