Christy Shelton, 53
July 22, 1973 – December 18, 2025
Tupelo-Martha Christine “Christy” Shelton, 53, departed this life for her heavenly home from the Hospice Unit at North Miss. Medical Center in Tupelo on Dec. 18, 2025 after a brief struggle with ovarian cancer. Born in New Orleans, La, the daughter of Boyce and the late Kay Shelton, Christy grew up in an excellent environment with a great deal of love. She lived all her life in Tupelo where she graduated from Tupelo High School 1990 and later received an AA Degre from Northeast Miss. Community College in Booneville. Christy was a delightful lady who loved strongly and enjoyed the peace and quietness of her home. Her work life included being a bookkeeper for several local businesses including Sack and Save Grocery, Tupelo Hardware Company and Wise Staffing. She was an avid Ole Miss Rebel fan, loved going to concerts and listening to music, caring for her cats, traveling, wine tasting and eating out. She had a wonderful close knit family of girls that were known as the “Cluckette’s who found generous ways to entertain themselves. Christy was an active member of Living Water Chapel, a non denominational Church in Corinth, where she thoroughly enjoyed worshiping and fellowshipping.
A Service celebrating her life will be held at 1PM Monday, December 22, 2025 in the Sadie Holland Memorial Chapel at Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo with her Pastor, Cayce Conti officiating. A family burial will take place in the Little Hope Cemetery in Tippah County, MS. with Bro. Jack Bennett officiating the graveside committal service. Visitation will be from 11 AM-service time on Monday only at Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo. For those unable to attend, the service may be viewed at hollandfuneraldirectors.com/Live-streaming at 1 PM, and will be archived thereafter.
Christy leaves behind her dad, Boyce Shelton of Tupelo; her sister Janet Abel of Tupelo; her nephews, Taylor Deaton, Cameron Deaton and Jody Patterson, several cousins and other near relatives and her “girls”-The Cluckette’s.
Pallbearers will Jody Patterson, Taylor Deaton, Cameron Deaton, Brandon Bridges, Jason Butler and Tony Sharplin.
