John Scott Ross, Jr., 68

November 6, 1957  –  January 4, 2026

Tupelo–John Scott “Scotty” Ross Jr. died January 4, 2026, at his residence in Greeneville, TN. Scotty was born and raised in Tupelo to the late John Scott Ross Sr. and the late Betty May Weatherly. He was a 1975 Tupelo High School graduate and afterwards he proudly served in the U.S. Navy. He worked many years as an engine builder at Tecumseh. In the 90’s Scotty went to ICC and graduated with an associated degree in Computer Technology where he worked in that field before his abilities wouldn’t allow him to any further. Scotty had many joys in life; of which was Hot Rod cars, avid San Francisco 49ers fan, music, playing his trumpet, and working on and riding motorcycles. Scotty may be best known for his grand ability to push peoples’ buttons.

A visitation time for remembering Scotty will be from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM Monday January, 12, 2026, at Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo. Holland Funeral Directors is honored to service the family and friends.

Scotty’s survivors include his sons, John Scott Ross III and James Michael Ross; daughter, Angelique Ross-Clifton of Tupelo; granddaughters, Makayla Ray and Emma Grace Ross-Clifton both of Friendship, TN; brother, Christopher Sean Ross of Tampa, FL

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife in 1999, Sandra Kay Hutcherson Ross
