March 18, 1943  –  January 25, 2026

Roy Fenton Pennington, 82, departed this earthly world for his home in Glory on January 25 at Pontotoc Health and Rehab Center in Pontotoc, Mississippi.

A resident of Thaxton, Mississippi, Roy was born March 18, 1943 to Roy and Delores Pennington in Gary, Indiana. While serving in the Marines for two years, he married his wife, Lucy, and was a faithful and devoted husband until her death in 1987. To this union, six wonderful children were born.

Roy had a career spanning forty years as a Printer before retiring in 2006 from Weatherall Printing in Tupelo.

After retirement his days were filled reading books, reading God’s word, and fellowshipping with his brothers and sisters in Christ at Apostolic Pentecostal Lighthouse Church in Tupelo until his health began to fail.

He was a great father who enjoyed fishing with his daughter and grandchildren, camping, and traveling. He loved spending time with his family, especially watching westerns with his faithful dog peanut in his lap.

In addition to his parents, preceding him in death are his brother, Raymond Pennington; his sister, Rose Dunahoo; his wife, Lucy; one daughter, Regina Casteneda (Henry); one son, Antonio “Little Tony” Pennington; granddaughters, Janine Pennington-Domond, Samantha Biederbeck; and one grandson, Tyler Pennington (Jenna).

He is survived by his thankful and loving family of two sons, Kevin Pennington of Belingham, Washington and Roy Pennington (Cathy) of Thornton, Colorado; two daughters, LucyAnn Kendall (Adrienne) of Vancouver, Washington and Roslyn Boles (Karnard) of Thaxton, Mississippi; a special nephew, Ralph Dunahoo, whom he loved dearly of Tupelo, Mississippi and a special friend, Dylan Pittman (Katie) of Tupelo, Mississippi, whom he loved as a son.

Roy leaves behind a beautiful legacy of twenty-two grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren, and one great great granddaughter, Annie.
