Marie Montgomery Wheeler, 90
December 5, 1936 – January 27, 2026
On January 27, 2026, our Lord Jesus Christ fulfilled His Covenant to Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, Marie Wheeler by taking her to her eternal home.
She passed away at the North Mississippi Medical Center, with her devoted family by her side. Marie was the sixth of ten children born to the union of Robert Lee Montgomery and Hattie Mae Mayfield Montgomery in Lee, County Mississippi. Marie Montgomery and George Wheeler, united in holy matrimony in the year of 1952, unto this union they were blessed with four children: George Jr., Lamar, Anitia, and Vanessa.
A faithful member of Faith Revival Center, known today as God’s House of Prayer in Belden, Mississippi where she served by singing selections, prayers and worship service and always showing her gratitude in praising the Lord in her own special way. Honoring God and family meant the world to her. She enjoyed being with family, especially entertaining the grands and great grands.
Attending Church was her most favorite of all things she enjoyed but to name a few others was playing her guitar, watching old western movies, shopping, eating out with family, cooking and preparing the best tasting food for her family and friends and going for a ride to site seeing.
Our mother will forever be missed and always remember by her three adult children, Lamar (Evelyn) Wheeler, Anitia Wheeler, Vanessa Wheeler all of Belden, Mississippi, one sister; Erielean (James) Tatum of Decatur, Alabama, two brothers; Robert Lee (Mary) Montgomery of Belden, Mississippi, T.C. (Willie Bee) Montgomery of Wisconsin, six grandchildren and eight great grands children and a host of very special nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son; George Wheeler, Jr., five siblings; Mable Lipsey, L.C., Joe, George, James and Joe L. Montgomery.
