Peggy Joyce Mitchell, 76

Peggy Joyce Mitchell, 76, of Tupelo, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2026, at North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice in Tupelo.

Peggy was born on April 26, 1949, in Mississippi to the late Ransom Fleming and Opal Hamlin. She attended Itawamba Community College and went on to work as a billing clerk for Thompson Machinery, where she was known for her dedication and strong work ethic.

She was a faithful member of West Jackson Street Baptist Church in Tupelo. Peggy had a deep love for sewing and took great joy in creating things for those she loved. Above all, she cherished her family, especially her beloved granddaughters, who brought her immense pride and happiness.

Peggy is survived by her loving husband, Perry Mitchell; her granddaughters, Cara Tackett and Courtney Ririe (Mike); and a host of extended family and friends who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Bob Tackett; and her brother, Carlton Fleming.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
