The New Albany Fire Department (NAFD) hosted a training event at Station 2 on South Denton Rd. on March 28th. The Second Annual Spring Training day provided plenty of heat outside, as well as inside of New Albany’s hands-on training center.

About 50 fire fighters from a variety of Mississippi fire departments participated in the training event, which takes place at various training sites across the state.  The NAFD was selected to host this year’s Spring Training, in conjunction with the Old South F.O.O.L.S. a chapter of the Fraternal Order of Leatherheads Society. F.O.O.LS. is a worldwide organization dedicated to the training and camaraderie of firefighters.

The training event consists of both basic training and realistic hands-on training for participants. The fire fighters suited up and participated in a simulated fire scenario in the training center.
