Bettye “Nanee” Robinson, 81

August 16, 1944 – April 9, 2026

Tupelo — Bettye “Nanee” Robinson passed away peacefully on April 9, 2026, at Sanctuary Hospice House. She was born on August 16, 1944, in Ripley to Raymond M. Creely and Mary Moffitt Creely.

At the age of twelve, Bettye moved with her family to Tupelo, where she built a life deeply rooted in faith, family, and community. She graduated from Tupelo High School in 1962 before beginning a career in retail. Bettye later attended Itawamba Community College and spent many dedicated years with Savings Oil—now Dodge’s Store—retiring in 2025.

A faithful and devoted member of West Jackson Street Baptist Church, Bettye lived her servant’s heart through her ministry. She especially cherished her work in the preschool ministry, where for more than fifty years she lovingly nurtured children and touched the lives of countless families.

Bettye greatest joy was found in her family, treasuring every moment spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren—reading, playing, and creating lasting memories together. Earlier in life, she and her husband, Ken, shared a love of travel and camping, making many cherished memories along the way.

She will be remembered not only for her kindness, but for her faith, and her deep love for her family. Her legacy of warmth, devotion, and quiet service will live on in all who knew and loved her.

Bettye is survived by her husband of fifty years, Ken Robinson; two daughters, Kathy Giles (Chris) of Talladega, Alabama, and Christy Barron (Terry) of Tupelo; her brother, Dr. Thomas Creely, Sr. (Joyce) of Newport, Rhode Island and Smyrna, Georgia; five grandchildren, Morgan Lundebo (Solomon) of Tupelo, Lindsey Meeks (Ethan) of Tupelo, Todd Giles of Ellerslie, Georgia, Ashley Wilson (Zack) of Tupelo, and Cassidy Barron of Tupelo; and three great-grandchildren, Lesley Lundebo, Raya Wilson, and Riley Wilson, all of Tupelo and two nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond M. Creely and Mary Moffitt Creely, and her sister, Ann Creely McCann.

Visitation will be held Thursday, April 16, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until the service at 3:00 p.m. at West Jackson Street Baptist Church. Dr. Keith Cochran and Rev. Chris O’Daniel will officiate. Burial will follow at Lee Memorial Park.
