Mrs. Mullins was born on May 27, 1929, in Dumas, to the late Ira and Thelma Mae Garland Morrison. She attended Pine Grove School and was a member of Overton Hill Community Church. On December 4, 1948, she married the love of her life, Everett Mullins, and together they built a life full of love, laughter, and joy.

She was known as a wonderful cook whose kitchen and table blessed many. For many years, she was a seamstress having worked for both McGregor and Reed Manufacturing (TIPCO) before she ultimately retired.  She loved to watch fireworks, though she preferred not to hear them. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her world, and she truly lived for the joy they brought her. She was overjoyed to help raise her special needs great-grandson, Connor, whom she dearly loved. Her eldest great-grandchildren, Madison and Luke, shared a special bond with her. Her best friends were her other great-grandchildren, Bailey, Ryan, and Nate, and together they made countless cherished memories and home movies where she could be found being interviewed or being the heroine in the story.

One of the family’s fondest memories is of seeing her sit side by side with her beloved husband long after their only child had grown and started his own family. She would walk around to the passenger side and scoot as close to Mr. Everett as she could, as if they were still in their courting days. She was known for being easy to aggravate and frighten whenever someone tried to play a practical joke on her, something her family lovingly remembers with smiles.

Above all, she was a prayer warrior. She was affectionately known as “Grandmother” not only to her family, but to nearly everyone she met. She took great pride in asking others to call her Grandmother. Her family finds peace in carrying out one of her final and dearest wishes—to meet again in Heaven. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish her special memories include two granddaughters, Brandi Mathis (Marty) of Walnut and Jennifer Roberson (Kyle) of Middleton, six much-adored great-grandchildren, Madison Mathis Robinson (Parker), Connor and Bailey Mathis, Luke Roberson (Jessica), and Ryan and Nate Roberson, one brother, Wayne Morrison (Dianne) of Blue Mountain, one special friend that she loved as her own grandson, Richard Wilbanks, and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express sincere gratitude to Ashland Health and Rehab, Carley Hughes and Heather Rutherford, her hospice nurses, the entire staff of Arden Hospice for their loving care, her caregivers Irene Rainey, Dianne Flake, and Mary Ann Williams. Also, her neighbors, who took care of her and loved her like family, Ray and Rose Porterfield and Kim Roberts and her entire community and church family, whom she cherished and loved each and every one of them.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Mullins; her only child, Terry Mullins; her daughter-in-law, Margaret Mullins; her sisters, Ivy Cox, Lillie Hargett, Clara James, and Ruby Cloinger; her brothers, Curtis, James, Roy, Vertis, Alvie, and Alvis; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Luke, Ryan, and Nate Roberson, Parker Robinson, Ryan Jernigan, and Richard Wilbanks. Honorary pallbearers will be Connor Mathis, Jim Jackson, her nephews, and her beloved neighbors and church members.
