Tupelo – Mr. Jerry Lamar Gayre, U.S. Navy, Retired, died May 10, 2026 at his residence surrounded by his loved ones.  He was born October 12, 1943 in Georgia to Mr. Albert Gay and Rita Duffield Gay.  After graduating high school and attending college, Jerry married Dianna Affonso August 19, 1964, a marriage that lasted almost 62 years.  He served active duty in the U.S. Navy for 20 years, serving in the Vietnam War and then the Reserves.
