Bobbie Jean Nix Bridges, 89

Bobbie was a Christian woman whose faith guided her through life and gave strength to those around her. She was a high school graduate and later worked as a seamstress for Mohasco Furniture, where she was known for her steady hands, strong work ethic, and dependable nature. She took pride in doing her work well and carried that same spirit of diligence into every part of her life.
Family was the heart of Bobbie’s world. She loved her family fiercely and treasured the time she spent with them. She is survived by her daughters, Lynn Mayo and her husband Jimmy, Mitzi Hodges and her husband George, and Marilyn Hogue; her sons, Joey Bridges and his wife Debbie, and Danny Bridges and his wife Donna; her sister, Dianne Simmons and her husband Jimmy; thirteen grandchildren; thirty-four great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Her grandchildren and their children were among her greatest joys, and she cherished every moment she could spend with them.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thurman and Era Wages Nix; her husband, Billy Joe Bridges; and all of her brothers, Jigs Nix and his wife Carolyn, Henry Nix, Bud Nix, Donald Ray Nix, and Red Nix. Their memories remained close to her heart throughout her life, and she carried their love with her always.
Bobbie was a woman who found happiness in the simple and meaningful things in life. Yard sales were a must for her, and she would happily make her grandchildren go along with her. She enjoyed cooking, visiting at the Salvation Army, and spending time with people she cared about. She had a way of making ordinary moments feel special, and her presence brought comfort, laughter, and warmth to those around her. She was loving, kind, and, and those qualities were evident in the way she treated others every day.
Bobbie’s life was one of love, faith, and devotion. She had a gift for making others feel welcome and cared for, and her humor and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. She will be remembered not only for the roles she fulfilled as a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, but also for the way she lived each day with sincerity and grace.
