Mary Jo White, 83

TUPELO – Mary Margaret (Mary Jo) Lawlor White, 83, died on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at the North MS Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born in Sheridan, Wyoming on September 5, 1942. She was the eldest daughter of Joseph S. and Leslye R. Lawlor, now deceased. She worked many years as a secretary-receptionist for four doctors in the Dallas, TX area. She retired from Judson L. Vance & Co., CPA, as office manager. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. She especially enjoyed entertaining them with her stories. She enjoyed decorating her home and playing the piano. She was a member of the St. James Catholic Church where she was a Eucharistic Minister and Lector for many years. She assisted in counting the collections for several years. She also did other volunteer work.
A Mass of Death and Resurrection will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at St. James Catholic Church in Tupelo with Fr. Tim Murphy and Fr. Henry Shelton officiating. Visitation will be from 1 PM to service time at the church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Miles City, Montana.
Survivors include her husband, James Edgeworth of Saltillo, and her three sons, Chris A. White (Stephanie), Craig R. White (Leslie), of Tupelo, and Corey J. White (Angela) of Nashville; her grandchildren, Barrett Womack (Amanda), Alex R. White (Krista), Lindsey J. White, Haley N. Buckley (Houston), and Hayden A. White; two sisters, Cathleen A. Zimmermann (deceased) and Teresa C. Kale (Jim) of Miles City, Montana.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Robert C. White in 2005, and her son Kevin N. White in 1969; and her parents, Joseph S. and Leslye R. Lawlor.
Pallbearers will be the Knights of Columbus.
