Sarah Marnell Bishop Adair, 76

March 2, 1950 – July 6, 2026

Mrs. Sarah Marnell Bishop Adair, 76, of Blue Mountain, Mississippi, peacefully transitioned from this earthly life into eternal rest on Monday, July 6, 2026, at Baptist North Mississippi Hospital in Oxford, Mississippi.

Born on March 2, 1950, in Union County, Mississippi, Sarah was the beloved daughter of the late Earnest Thomas Bishop and Erver Idell Dillard Bishop. She was raised with strong Christian values, a deep love for family, and a servant’s heart that she carried throughout her life.

Sarah was a faithful member of Bethlehem Church of New Albany, where she cherished her relationship with the Lord and her church family. She was a woman whose life reflected kindness, generosity, and unwavering devotion to those she loved.

She was a proud graduate of Myrtle High School, Class of 1968, and furthered her education at Northeast Mississippi Community College, where she studied Computer Programming. Sarah was employed as a secretary with Massengill Trucking, where she was admired for her dedication, professionalism, and warm personality.

To know Sarah was to know someone who found great joy in bringing people together. She treasured time spent with her family and was happiest when surrounded by those she loved. Whether she was preparing delicious home-cooked meals, baking sweet treats, sewing with care, or planning family gatherings, she had a special gift for making everyone feel welcomed and loved. Her kindness, wisdom, and nurturing spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories her devoted husband of 27 years, Rickey Adair of Blue Mountain, Mississippi; one loving son, Carey Adair of Blue Mountain, Mississippi; three brothers, Rev. Donald L. Bishop (Rev. Nancy) of Saltillo, Mississippi, Thomas Daniel Bishop of Myrtle, Mississippi, and George William “Billy” Bishop (Janie Lynn) of the Poolville Community; three cherished grandchildren, Morgan McMillen, Cody Adair, and Callie Adair; two adored great-grandchildren, Brooke McMillen and Jett McMillen; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many dear friends who will forever treasure her memory.

Though our hearts are saddened by her passing, we rejoice in knowing that Sarah’s legacy of faith, love, compassion, and devotion to family will continue to inspire generations to come. Her gentle spirit, warm smile, and loving presence will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
