Alma Lee Hughes, 93

January 28, 1933 – July 15, 2026

On July 15, 2026, at the Traceway Manor Nursing Home, our beloved Alma Lee Hughes passed away peacefully with the love of family surrounding her at the age of 93.

A daughter of Earlie McGill and Henretta Shack (Shackford) was born in Lamar County, Alabama, on January 25, 1933.

Her life was pledged to Christ at a very young age. Some of her most favorite topics for conversation were Biblical teaching.

In her most recent years, she loved talking about God’s mercy and grace.

She will be forever cherished and honored by her adult children, three daughters; Carolyn (John) Salters, Irma Jean Moore, Gwendolyn Chapman, two sons; Michael Hughes, Wayman Earl Hughes, one sister; Earlene Webber, five grandchildren;

Dedre (DAndra) Thrasher, Brittany Hughes, Michael Nsuk, Damian (Bethany) Hughes, Thorence Hughes, eight great grandchildren, one nephew, three nieces and numerous grand nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Proceeding Alma in death was her parents, husband Willett Hughes, two sons; Rodney Terrell Hughes and Larry D. Hughes, a granddaughter; Courtney Salters-Henderson.

At the request of the family, the service will be held privately.
