Willie Van Pulliam, 90
December 9, 1935 – August 8, 2026
Willie Van Pulliam was born December 9, 1935 in Houlka, Mississippi to the late Sammie Pulliam and Katie Isbell Pulliam.
Willie Van confessed his hope and faith in Christ at an early age and united with Thompson Chapel Christian Methodist Episcopal Church where he remained a member until death.
Van was a devout follower of Christ and a dedicated family man. He was a very hard worker. Later in life Willie Van united in holy matrimony to Ruby Jean Nails.
Willie Van is preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Nails Pulliam; his son, Willie Wayne Pulliam; daughter, Mahaley Foote; brother, Sammie Otis Isbell; sisters, Mary Pulliam, Etoy Pulliam, Diane Powell, and Louise Thomas.
To lovingly remember and to cherish his memory, he leaves one son, David Lynn Pulliam; five daughters, Linda J. Moore (Paul) of Houston, MS, Sammie Kay McIntosh of Houlka, MS, Elois Vance of Houlka, MS, Lesia A. Judon (James) of Houlka, MS, Katherine Pulliam (Graylon) of Houston, MS; brothers, Melvin Pulliam (Levada), Leroy Pulliam, and Charles Pulliam (Iris); sisters, Ida Bell Berry of Houlka, MS, Delois Garrett of Pontotoc, MS, and Gracie Terrell of Pontotoc, MS; a special friend, Ms. Aletha Lyles; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 12, 2026, from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Payton Mortuary. Funeral service will be Thursday, August 13, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Thompson Chapel CME Church, 937 County Road 308, Houlka, MS 38850. Viewing available one hour before service.
