Tupelo- Alice Smith, 87, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2026, at her home in Tupelo, Mississippi.
Alice was born on September 11, 1938, in Yazoo County, Mississippi, to the late Martin Smith and Rosie Lee Williams. She later made Tupelo her home, where she lived for more than 50 years and became a beloved member of the community.
Alice was a faithful member of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church. She was a devoted and loving person who cherished her family dearly. Her family was at the heart of her life, and she will always be remembered for the love, care, and memories she shared with those around her. Alice retired from Vend Foods after 30 years of dedicated service. She took great pride in her work and in the life she built for herself and her family.
Those who knew Alice will remember her for her loving heart, strong spirit, and devotion to her family. She leaves behind a lifetime of memories that will continue to be treasured by all who loved her. May her memory be a blessing to her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A celebration of life service will be 1 PM Friday, August 21, 2026, at Morning Star M.B. Church in Tupelo, MS with Pastor Craig Fields officiating. Visitation will be from 5 PM-7 PM on Thursday, August 20, 2026, in the Sadie Holland Memorial Chapel at Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo and from 12 PM-service time Friday at the Church. Burial will be at Porters Memorial Gardens. Holland Funeral Directors are honored to be serving the friends and family. Alice leaves to cherish her memories, her 2 sons, Jerry and Jamie Smith, both of Tupelo; daughters, Sandra Smith and Helen Smith of Kansas City, Missouri and Barbara Henderson of Yazoo City; brother, Lonzo Smith of Bellerville, Illinois and a host of grandchildren and other family members.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Martin Smith and Rosie Lee Williams; son, Calvin Smith; and daughter, Sharon Davis.
Pallbearers will be Tim Henderson, Jr., Rodney Davis, Broderick Latiker, Bernard Guyton, Eric Guyton and Eugene Reynolds. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jerry B. Smith and Jamie D. Smith. Flower Bearers will be choir members and ushers.
