Mary Ann Robbins Haynie, 75

April 23, 1951  –  August 19, 2026

Mary Ann Robbins Haynie, known lovingly to family and friends as Ann Haynie, passed away on August 19, 2026, at the age of 75. She was born on April 23, 1951, in New Albany, Mississippi, and lived a life marked by faith, devotion, kindness, and steadfast love for her family and community.

Ann was the daughter of Hub Robbins and Elizabeth “Dude” Riddle Robbins, both of whom preceded her in death along with her much loved grandson Hub Haynie. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 55 years, Steven Lee Haynie, who stood beside her through a lifetime of shared memories, hard work, and enduring love.

Ann was a proud mother to three children, Tina Willard and her husband Brad, Marty Haynie, and Lyndie Herod and her husband Chad. She was a beloved sister to Sarah Conlee and her husband Joseph. Her legacy continues through her seven grandchildren, Austin Haynie, Braden Willard, Abby Haynie, Hope Herod, Lilly Willard, and Jaxon Herod, as well as her great-grandchild, Sadie Grace Willard. She also leaves behind nieces and nephews whom she claimed as her own, Greg Conlee and his wife Penny, Michael Conlee and his wife Mandi, and Kelley Burnetti and her husband Charles, along with great-nieces and great-nephews Gina Beth, Gracen, Eden, Carson, Walker, Daniel, Josie, and Luke, and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews Rivers, Conlee Cate, Rhodes, Wells, Ren, Townes, and Ripley Ann.

A high school graduate with some college education, Ann devoted 49 years of service to the Myrtle bank, where she became much more than an employee. She was regarded as family by the Myrtle community and was deeply loved by those who knew her. Her faithful service and kind spirit were recognized in 2016 when she was honored as Myrtle’s Citizen of the Year.

Ann was a Christian whose faith guided every part of her life. She loved Jesus and served as a Sunday School teacher for more than 50 years, with her final class being the Dorcas Class. Her faith was not only spoken but lived, and she shared it through her words, her actions, and her constant care for others. She was family to the core and was always present for every event, whether at school, church, or elsewhere. She enjoyed shopping more than most, loved decorating for Christmas, and embraced the entire holiday season with joy and enthusiasm. She made sure everyone received a gift from her, whether it was exactly what they wanted or not, because giving was simply part of who she was. She treated everyone she met like family, and her gentle apology, often heard in the words “I’m sorry,” reflected her tender heart. She was also the biggest West Union supporter, faithfully attending games even when her grandchildren or nieces and nephews were not playing.

Services to honor her life will be held on Saturday, August 22, at 3:00 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church. Visitation will be held the night before from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and the day of the service from 2:00pm to 3:00pm at Bethel Baptist Church, and burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to West Union Endowment for Education.
