Gracie Mae Terrell, 76

 September 11, 1949 –  August 25, 2026

Gracie Mae Terrell was born September 11, 1949, to the late Ida Bell Berry, but she was raised as a daughter by her maternal grandparents Sammie Pulliam and Katie Isbell Pulliam in Houlka, Mississippi. God sent an angel to ascend her from mortality to immortality on August 25, 2026, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi.

At an early age, Gracie accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at Thompson Chapel Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, where she remained a member until her death.

Gracie received her education in the Chickasaw County School System where she received a high school diploma.

Gracie worked at Seminole Manufacturing in Houston, Mississippi, and later at Action Industries in Pontotoc, Mississippi, for a combined 25 years as a seamstress until she retired.

Gracie loved to sing, cook, and spend time with her children, grandchildren, and family. She was also a faithful member of Thompson Chapel Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, where she served in several key positions on the Stewardess Board, President of the Usher Ministry, and member of the choir until her health started to fail.

To remember and cherish her loving memory are her two daughters, Renea (Andre) Lewis of Byram, Mississippi, and Felicia (Marcus) Gentry of Clinton, Mississippi; five sisters, Delois Garrett of Pontotoc, Mississippi, Luray Holbrook of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Ruby (Troy) McAlister, Florence Berry, and Geneta (William) Johnson, all of Houlka, Mississippi; seven brothers, Lee (Georgia Mae) Berry of Houlka, Mississippi, Claywood (Mary) Berry of Houston, Mississippi, Glenn (Walter Mae) Berry of Pontotoc, Mississippi, Charles Berry of Houlka, Mississippi, Charles (Iris) Pulliam, Leroy Pulliam, and Melvin (Levada) Pulliam, all of Houlka, Mississippi; two grandchildren whom her life revolved around, Brianna Butler and Coy Marcus Gentry, Jr.; one great-grandchild, Aubrey Mallett; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

Gracie was preceded in death one day before her loving mother, Ida Bell Berry. Others who preceded her in death include her maternal grandparents, Sammie and Katie Pulliam; four sisters, Diane Powell, Louise Thomas, Mary Pulliam, and Etoy Pulliam; and two brothers, Willie Van Pulliam and Otis Isbell.

Visitation will be Friday, September 4, 2026, from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Payton Mortuary. Funeral service will be Saturday, September 5, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Thompson Chapel CME Church, 937 County Road 308, Houlka, MS.
