Jennifer Nowlin, 78

Jennifer Kay McCoy Nowlin passed away on September 4, 2026, at Church Street Manor Assisted Living in Ecru, Mississippi, at the age of 78.

She was born on May 17, 1948, in Pontotoc, Mississippi, to the late Lamar “Nub” McCoy and Opaline Cruse McCoy. Jennifer lived a life marked by kindness, devotion, and quiet strength. She was a loving, friendly, and kind woman whose presence brought comfort and warmth to those around her. Her life was centered on faith, family, and the simple joys of caring for others.

Kay earned her bachelor’s degree in education and taught school for a few years, where she shared her knowledge and encouragement with her students. Later, she devoted herself to being a homemaker, a role she embraced with love and dedication. She took great pride in creating a caring home and in being present for the people she loved most. Her life reflected a steady commitment to her family and to the values she held dear.

She was a faithful member of Friendship Baptist Church and lived her life as a Christian with grace and humility. Her faith was an important part of who she was and guided the way she treated others. Kay found joy in the everyday blessings of life, especially in spending time with her family. She loved taking care of her grandchildren and treasured every moment she shared with them.

Kay also enjoyed mowing grass and working outside in the yard and flower beds. She found satisfaction in caring for her home and surroundings, and she took pride in making things beautiful. These simple pleasures were among the many ways she expressed her nurturing spirit and her appreciation for hard work.

She is survived by her husband, Larry Nowlin; her son, Todd Nowlin and his wife Amber; her two sisters, Debbie Corder and her husband Stanley, and Becky Kidd and her husband David; her brother, Jerry McCoy and his wife Judy; her three grandchildren, Makenna Bourland and her husband Tucker, Breanna Rogers and her husband Colton, and Brayden Nowlin and his wife Sydney; her three great-grandchildren, Molly Rogers, Paden Rogers, and Parks Rogers; and one great-granddaughter, Clara Reed Bourland, who is due any day now.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents, Lamar “Nub” McCoy and Opaline Cruse McCoy. Her family and friends will remember her for her loving heart, her gentle nature, and the steady care she gave so freely throughout her life. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, devotion, and love that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

A visitation will be on Sunday, September 6, 2026 at Friendship Baptist Church from2:00 p.m. until funeral service time at 4:00 p.m. with Bro. Buster Wilson and Bro. Jason Davis officiating. Burial will be at Ingomar Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Caleb Kidd, Jacob Kidd, Mitch McCoy, John Adam Nowlin and Evan Corder.
