Terry Lynn Goolsby, 64

Terry Lynn Goolsby, age 64, departed this earthly life on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama, following injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Funeral services honoring Terry Lynn’s life will be held at 2 PM Thursday, September 24, 2026, at Temperance Hill Baptist Church in Potts Camp, with Bro. Lynn McCord and Bro. Herbert Luther officiating. Visitation will begin at 12 noon and continue until the time of service. In accordance with Terry Lynn’s wishes, he will be cremated following the service.
Born November 11, 1961, in Mississippi, Terry Lynn was the son of the late James Drew and Clara Joyce Smith Goolsby. He attended Hickory Flat High School and, on September 25, 1987, married his beloved wife, Martha Ann Cook Goolsby. Together, they built a life centered on family, sharing in the joy of raising their daughter, Hanna. Terry Lynn believed in a hard day’s work and spent more than forty years as a truck driver, working with Ashley Furniture for the last three years.
A Christian and a member of Temperance Hill Baptist Church, Terry Lynn had a way of making friends wherever he went. He loved to travel, especially to the Great Smoky Mountains, and enjoyed learning about history of all kinds. He could often be found reminiscing about what he called “the good ole days,” sharing stories that brought the past to life for those around him.
Terry Lynn never missed a chance to meet someone new or tease someone he knew. His easygoing spirit, bright smile, and familiar laugh could turn an ordinary moment into a good memory. As much as he enjoyed a trip or a good story, his greatest happiness came from being with Martha Ann, Hanna, and his grandchildren. He loved them deeply and treasured their time together.
Those who knew Terry Lynn will remember a man who embraced life, found joy in the people around him, and made sure they knew they mattered. His family and friends will miss him dearly. Through their faith, they find comfort in the hope of seeing his bright smile again, hearing that familiar laugh, and being together once more.
In addition to Martha Ann, his wife of nearly 39 years, Terry Lynn leaves behind his daughter, Hanna Minor (Dustin); his grandchildren, Annastin and Beau Minor; his sister, Merion Hunsucker; and a very special nephew who was like a son to him, Jamie Cook. He also leaves behind a wide circle of extended family and many friends who will cherish his memory.
In addition to his parents, Terry Lynn was preceded in death by his infant brother, Jerry Goolsby.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jeff Byrd, Justin Braddock, Fletcher Akin, and Lawrence Mask. Honorary pallbearers will be Lawrence Mask Jr., Keith Mask, Jamie Cook, Joshua Cook, Ethan Cook, and Scotty Cook.
