Tranton Stephen Jackson, 92, of Horn Lake, Mississippi, passed away on September 28, 2026 surrounded by his family.
Funeral services honoring the life of Tranton will be held on Friday, October 2, 2026, at 2 PM, in the Heritage Chapel of the Ripley Funeral Home with Bro. David Shephard officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2026, in the Heritage Chapel of the Ripley Funeral Home from 5 PM until 8 PM and on Friday, October 2, 2026, from 12 PM until time of service. Burial will follow in the County Line Baptist Church Cemetery.
Tranton was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather whose life was a beautiful reflection of his Christian faith. He was a man of remarkable patience and grace, whose gentle spirit, kindness, and unwavering love left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Tranton was a hard working man who spent his career working with Yellow trucking company. He was also a gifted craftsman with an exceptional talent for woodworking. His skilled hands created pieces that will be treasured for generations. His craftsmanship reflected the same patience, dedication, and attention to detail that he carried throughout his life.
Above all, Tranton’s greatest joy was his family. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Sue Jackson, with whom he shared 61 beautiful years of marriage before her passing in 2016. Their marriage was a testament to enduring love, faith, patience, and commitment. Together, they built a life centered on family and created a legacy of love that will continue for generations to come.
Tranton was a loving father whose devotion to his family was evident in all that he did. He led by example, demonstrating the importance of hard work, compassion, patience, and grace. His quiet strength and gentle nature were true gifts to those fortunate enough to know and love him.
He leaves behind a cherished legacy through his two children, five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and seventeen great-great-grandchildren.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Elaine Hopkins of Walnut, one son, Tranton Stephen Jackson, Jr. (Susan) of Horn Lake, one sister, Brunell Hopper of Walnut, three brothers, E.C. Jackson of New Albany, Wayne Jackson of Walnut and Hank Jackson of Walnut, five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and seventeen great-great-grandchildren.
Tranton was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sue Jackson, who passed away in 2016, one sister, Truzell Phillips, and three brothers, Clayton Jackson, A.W. Jackson, and Raybon Jackson.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Johnny Logan, Hank Hopper, Frankie Jackson, Gary Hall, David Jackson, and Glen Phillips.
