Mr. A. C. McKinnie, 78, of Michigan City, MS, transitioned at his home on Wednesday, October 9, 2024



A.C. McKinnie was born on December 1, 1945, to the late Lem & Louise McKinnie.  A.C. accepted Christ as Lord & Savior at an early age and joined early age and joined Union Hill Baptist Church.

A.C. McKinnie passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at his home.  He was a loving husband, devoted father, cherished grandfather and dear friend to all.  Born in Grand Junction, TN, A.C. lived a life filled with love, laughter, and kindness; he was known for his warm smile, gentle demeanor, and unwavering generosity.

A.C. worked as an Assembly Line Technician, where he was respected for his dedication and hard work.  He approached every task with diligence and integrity; leaving a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of working with him.  In his free time, A.C. enjoyed working on cars, finding solace and joy in the simple moments spent with his family and friends.

A.C. will be dearly missed by his beloved wife Susie Mae Hampton; his children: Angela (Charles) of Stone Mountain, GA, Alvin (Kenyetta), Alex and Robert of Detroit, MI, Alfred and Vernon of Michigan City, MS, nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; five brothers: Lem McKinnie (Betty), Eddie Lee, McKinnie and Karl McKinnie (La’Toya), all of Michigan City, MS, John Lee McKinnie of Boliver, TN, and Roy Mason of CA; four sisters: Elmon Jean  Lockette of Whiteville, TN, Erma Jean Jones of Grand Junction, TN, Nancy Woods of Bolivar, TN, and Rosemary Buckley of Corinth, MS: two sisters-in-law: Ellen McKinnie of Ashland, MS, Debra McKinnie of Grand Junction, TN; a host of nieces,  nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A.C. was preceded in death by his loving parents: Lem and Louise McKinnie; five siblings: Oscar McKinnie, Velve Lee McKinnie, Murlean Jackson, Billy McKinnie and James Edward McKinnie; brother-in-law, Clifford Lockett; sis-in-law: Ernestine McKinnie.

He touched the lives of many and will be remembered fondly for his kindness, compassion, and gentle spirit.  A.C. may have left this world, but his love and legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who know him.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 18, 2024, 4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m., at  Serenity Funeral Home Chapel, 140 North Memphis Street,  Holly Springs, MS 38635.

Services will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at 2:30 p.m., Union Hill M. B.  Church, 295 Union Hill Road, Ashland, MS  38603

Burial will take place in the Church Cemetery
