A Saltillo marijuana dispensary raided, owner arrested and charged
A Medical Cannabis Dispensary owner has been arrested and charged. The charges stem from a violation of state laws regarding the possession and sale of cannabis.
The Green Guys Medical Cannabis Dispensary, owned by Mark Anthony Cash in Saltillo, MS, was searched by Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC) Agents on July 24, 2023. The search was authorized by Judge Michael P. Mills and assisted by various law enforcement agencies. On July 28, 2023, Cash was arrested for possessing marijuana and THC Edible Gummies that were not obtained through the State of MS Medical Cannabis Program.
Lee County Sheriff Jim Johnson identified Cash. It is alleged that Cash had marijuana and THC edible gummies that were not obtained through Mississippi’s Medical Cannabis Program. Additionally, illegal drugs, guns, and cash were found in his home, according to the sheriff. The officers seized over two pounds of non-compliant marijuana, more than 100 2.5-pound bags of non-compliant THC gummies, four handguns, and over $2,000 in total.
Cash is charged with three counts of selling a controlled substance and possessing a controlled substance with the intention to distribute. The sheriff noted that Cash may face more serious charges, pending crime lab analysis. The result follows a collaborative investigation that lasted a month, which involved the MS ABC, Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Saltillo Police Department, and North MS Narcotics Unit.
