Alicia Anita McMurry, 64

Tupelo – Alicia Anita McMurry, age 64, died Monday, February 16, 2026 at her home. She was born May 22, 1961 in Jacksonville, Florida, to the marital union of William Marvin McMurry and Mary Ann Phillips Moreland. After graduating from high school, Alicia worked as a cutter employed by Red Cap Industries. She loved spending time with family and her furry beloved companions, Cotton, Sergio, and Simone.

As per her request, there will be no formal service. A gathering for family and friends celebrating Alicia’s life will be Saturday, February 21, 2026 at her residence.

Survivors include her daughter, Melissa Barnett of Tupelo; sister, Jackie Whitlock of Tupelo and brother, Danny McMurry of Sherman. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, William Marvin “Bill” McMurry, Jr. of Tupelo and John Justice of Grants Pass, Oregon; sister, Susie Marie White of Trinity, NC.
