Andy Vancil, 61

December 13, 1962 – May 27, 2024

On May 27, 2024, New Albany, MS lost a beloved soul as Andy Vancil passed away. Born on December 13, 1962, in Memphis, TN, Andy’s journey in this world touched the hearts of many. His departure leaves a void, but his memory will forever linger in the hearts of those who knew him.



Andy dedicated 35 years of his life as Copier Tech, showcasing his commitment and expertise in his chosen career. Beyond his professional life, Andy’s interests were vast and varied. He found solace in gardening, cherished the melodies of Rock and Roll, had a passion for motorcycles and muscle cars. His fascination with collecting Civil War items and indulging in documentaries about history illustrated his curious mind. Additionally, he enjoyed watching DIY shows and taking on remodeling his own home.

Andy leaves behind a tapestry of relationships that enriched his life. He is survived by his loving wife, Melinda Vancil and cherished family members including Annette Smith (mother), his kids; Landon Vancil (Abigail Williams Vancil), Seth Vancil, Daniel Williams, Savannah Goode, Layne Goode, Samantha Organ, his sisters Teresea Logan (Wayne) and Andreia Mraz (Sean Car), his grandchildren Alexia Williams, Rebecca Vancil, Alani Blaire Organ, He is survived by his nieces Kali Gibson, Taylor Mraz, his nephews Hawkins Logan , Christopher Mraz, Gabriel Mraz,  great- niece Serenity Schwank along with other friends and relatives.

Among those who preceded him in death are Andrew Vancil (father), Johnathan Howell (nephew), Larry Smith (stepdad), Cubell Rutledge (grandmother) and Mark Gibson (brother-in-law).

The services to honor Andy’s life will be held at Glenfield Funeral Home on May 29th, 2024, with the visitation from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The Celebration of Life will take place on May 30th at 2:00 PM followed by a Graveside Service at Tippah Memorial Gardens in Ripley, MS.
