Ms. Annette Spears, 66, transitioned on Sunday, January 4, 2026.
Annette Spears was born on December 14, 1959, to the late Arthur “Bill” and Maurice Spears of Blue Mountain, MS. She departed this life on Sunday, January 4, 2026.
Annette dedicated over 25 years of her life to Walmart Distribution Center before retiring and was a faithful member of Living Word Faith Center Church. She was a beloved mother, sister, aunt, and friend, known for her love, honesty, and devotion. She is survived by her two children.
She leaves to cherish her memory; two daughters, Cessily Spears Hasan and Brianna Witherspoon; a son-in-law, Taji Hasan; three grandchildren, Deja Hasan, Devin Spears, and Jayden Spears; and two great-grandchildren, Aryah Harris and Tyden Harris.
Annette’s family and friends meant everything to her, and she will be deeply missed by them. She leaves behind seven sisters, two brothers, and friends near and far. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Arthur “Bill” Wade Spears and Maurice Rutherford Spears; her brother, Hubert Spears; her sister, Christine Spears; and her nephew, Cedric Spears.
Though Annette has left this earthly life, her spirit lives on through the love she shared and the lives she touched. She is now with the Lord, healed and whole. Her memory will remain forever in our hearts, and her faith, kindness, and love will continue with us. Though we grieve her loss, we trust she is at peace in God’s care.
Visitation will be on Friday, January 16, 2026, 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Serenity Funeral Home Chapel, 722 Coulter Road, New Albany, MS 38652.
Services will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 3:00 p.m., at Living Word Faith Center,105B MS-15, New Albany, MS 38652.
Interment will take place at Palestine Cemetery, Blue Mountain, MS.
