Annie Bell Barton, 81

September 18, 1942 – September 4, 2024

Annie Bell Barton was born September 18th, 1942 to the late Ira L. Davis (Murry) and Otis Murry.



Annie confessed a faith in Christ at an early age and united with Macedonia MB Baptist Church. She then moved her membership to Mt. Pleasant MB Baptist Church in Kossuth, MS where she sang in the choir.

Annie was united in holy matrimony to Charles Bowden with whom her only daughter was born, the late Shirley Rena Bowden. Annie later married James Henry Barton on February 15th, 1962. To this union three sons were born, James Barton, Johnny Barton, and Charles Barton.

Annie started working at a very young age of 13 years old and continued until the age of 79 years old. Annie enjoyed cooking and was known for her delicious fried chicken and homemade cakes. She never met a stranger and loved spending time with all of her family, especially the grandchildren, and keeping the house clean.

Annie was preceded in death by her mother, Ira L. Davis (Murry), father James Henry Barton, two sisters, Mary Baldwin, Queen Smith, three brothers, James Davis, Willie Frank Davis, Bobby Joe Key, Great grandson; Jaiveon McGee, and a special great grandson, the late Isaiah Moreno.

Annie leaves to cherish her memories, James Odis Barton (Rita), his children: Amber Barton, Shirley Keaira Barton, and Maria Barton; Johnny Frank Barton, his children: Dontrell Weathersby, Omega Weathersby, Valerie Bradley, and Roslin Barton; Charles James Barton, his children: Breshevia Barton, Shannon Dyer, and Canasyia Barton.

Three special sons: Robert Crump, Dontrell Weathersby, and the (late) Isaiah Moreno, and Two sisters, Pearl Allen (James) and Clara; One Brother, Charles Davis and a host of nieces and nephews, and grandchildren. A very special granddaughter Amber Barton.
