Annie Lee Ivory, 71
June 12, 1953 – August 25, 2024
VERONA – Annie Lee Liggins-Ivory was born on June 12, 1953, to the late Earnest Lee Liggins and Annie B. Buford–Hudson. She professed hope in Christ at an early age and was baptized at East St. Peter M. B. church. She received her education at Abbeville Schools and Oxford School District. Annie was born and raised in Oxford, MS. She worked at the University of Mississippi at the Zeta Phi Theta sorority and then Oxford Junior High School before moving to Tupelo, MS where she continued working and providing for her family. She worked at Reed’s manufacturing and then Lanier Clothing and Barbeque by Jim’s until her health started to decline. Although she moved to Tupelo in the late 1980s and called it home, she never forgot where she came from and would always be sure to come back to visit her family where she shared many memorable moments.
On September 16, 2000, Annie married Glen Ivory and remained married for twenty-three years until her last breath honoring their vows. In past times, she loved spending time and creating memories with family and friends during cookouts, holidays, or just a blessed day. She also loved her horror movies, crossword puzzles, and playing solitaire.
On Sunday, August 25, 2024, Annie traded her earthly life for eternal life with the Lord. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Glen Ivory of Shannon, MS; four sons, John (Angela) Liggins, and Daniel Lipsey of Shannon, MS, Marvin (Courtney) Liggins, and Willie Campbell Jr., both of Tupelo, MS; three sisters, Vera Campbell of Abbeville, MS, Mary Owens and JoAnn Draper both of Oxford, MS; one brother, William C. Hudson of Oxford, MS; twelve grandsons, Mardavius, Marquintis, Jatavius, Amond, Travonta Joshua Erran Latavuis, Terriek, Willis Guyton, and Shaquel; seven granddaughters, Kaneshia, Saraa, Ma’kia, Avery, Laken, Lakeshia, Mardaysia, Kaniya, and Janiyla; seventeen great-grandchildren; one aunt, JoAnna Burnette; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, godsons and friends, and two special cousins, Annie Gaters-Gilliom and Willie W. Gaters.
Waiting on her in heaven are her parents, Earnest Lee Liggins and Annie B. Buford- Hudson; sisters, Robbie Jean (Bennie Mae) and Linda; brothers, Willie Frank (Drag), Thomas, Johnny Lee (Hooka), Willie Lee, and Frankie Lee; and four nieces.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held for Annie at 1:30 PM on Saturday, August 31, 2024 in the Sadie M. Holland Memorial Chapel at Holland Funeral Directors in Tupelo. The wake will be at the funeral home on Friday evening from 4 PM to 6 PM. Burial will take place at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Abbeville, MS. Holland Funeral Directors is honored to serve their friends.
