Annie Mae Smith Sanford, 94

Tupelo— Annie Mae Richardson Smith Sanford, age 94, passed away peacefully on 13 August 2022, at Tupelo, MS. She was born on January 25, 1928 in Popular Creek, MS to Chalmers Henry and Annie Crowder Richardson. She married Thomas Jefferson Smith on March 12, 1949 in Montgomery County, MS and Sterling Louis Sanford on August 18, 2003 in Monroe County, MS.
Mrs. Sanford was preceded in death by her parents, most of her siblings, first husband Thomas Jefferson Smith and second husband Sterling Louis Sanford. Mrs. Sanford leaves one sister, Kathryn Wilson of Tupelo, one brother, Claude Richardson of Gulfport two daughters, Patricia Carter (Jackie) of Smithville and Debbie Sanford (Dale) of Seminary; three sons, Harold Smith (Susan) of Richland, WA, Bruce Smith of Tupelo and Michael Smith (Karen) of Toney, AL., 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
