Ansley Haynes Thompson, 17

December 4, 2006 – March 9, 2024

Ansley Haynes Thompson, age 17, of New Albany, Mississippi, went to be with her Lord surrounded by her family on Saturday, March 9, 2024. She was born December 4, 2006 to Johnny and DeeAnn Thompson. Ansley was a member of the Class of 2025 at Ingomar Attendance Center and a member of the Swim Team. She was a Falcon through and through and a huge supporter of all things Ingomar. Ansley was a member of and loved Fredonia Baptist Church. She was involved in the youth group and choir. Some of her favorite activities through the years were GAs, Camp Garaywa, VBS, and CentriKids.
Ansley lit up every room she entered with her smile. She loved a sleepover with friends, a girls’ day shopping, family trips (especially to Disney World), jumping on the trampoline, swimming, golf cart rides on the trail, giving hugs, and making TikToks. Ansley was quick to tell others about Jesus, and He was her strength. Ansley was brave, strong, and courageous and overcame countless obstacles in her short 17 years.
Ansley’s strong faith and her love for God prepared her for her fight against cancer. She was diagnosed with a rare brain tumor on December 14, 2020, and received treatments at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The physicians and staff cared for and loved Ansley dearly. She made friends with everyone she came in contact with from caregivers to fellow patients to visitors. Ansley and her family embraced Exodus 14:14 as their anthem verse.
Ansley was preceded in death by her grandfathers Roy Earl Haynes and Danny Tracy Thompson, Sr. Ansley is survived by her parents; her sisters Bailey Reed (Nathan) and Cassie Taylor (Collin); one niece, Mamie Ann Reed; grandmothers, Patricia Whitehead Haynes and Jo Ann Thompson; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins. Ansley loved her entire family so big and referred to them as the FAMJAM.
