TUPELO – April Dawn Freeman Walker departed this life for her life in eternity in the morning hours of Sunday, December 22, 2024 from NMMC in Tupelo, MS. April was born in Tupelo, MS on April 28, 1976, to the late John H. Freeman and Mollie Faye Foxx. She attended Tupelo High School. Her hobbies included cooking popular flavorful meals for her family, cruising the Caribbean Sea, traveling country roads for the best eateries, taking care of her family, and telling life’s truth as it is. She is sorely missed by all!!



April is survived by her husband, Frank Walker; her daughter Franki Samara Stone (Devonte), and her son, Calandon Tyreek Walker; grandchildren, Dakota Joi Stone and Daelyn Lola-Fae Stone; sisters, Ursula Smith of Tupelo, Mississippi, Sonja Brandon of Mason, Tennessee, Kanika Kolheim (Rodney) of Pensacola, Florida, Calandra “Shortcake” Smith (Thomas) of Olive Branch, Mississippi, Candace Mabry (Sedrick) and Loanesha Barber (Kendrick) of Tupelo, Mississippi, and brother, Glekos Morris of Tupelo, Mississippi; mother-in-law, Zella Mae of Egypt, Mississippi, and father-in-law Frank Walker Sr. of Egypt, Mississippi; brother-in-law Ulysses Walker of Egypt, Mississippi; great-aunt Inez V. Rose of Memphis, Tennessee; step-grandmother Burnetta Jones of St. Louis, Missouri; best friend of more than 35 years Shakita “Pooh” Johnson-Staggs; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, December 29, 2024, in the Sadie M. Holland Memorial Chapel at Holland Funeral Directors in Tupelo. Visitation will be from 1 PM to service time. For those unable to attend, the service will be livestreamed at 2 PM on Sunday at hollandfuneraldirectors.com/live-streaming and will be archived thereafter.
