Armed man holds up New Albany loan company/ UPDATED 12-7

Police in Mississippi and Tennessee are still working to identify and arrest the armed robber who held up a New Albany business and another business in Tupelo yesterday afternoon.

It is believed that the search is concentrated in the Memphis area.

New Albany, MS- An armed robber held up a small loan office in New Albany at mid-afternoon Tuesday, Dec. 6. A black male, age not known, entered the Money-In-Minutes storefront office at 102 Chrystal Plaza at about 2:40 pm. He displayed a semi-automatic handgun and demanded money.

The robber was wearing a blue jacket and red baseball cap. He wore the baseball cap pulled low over his eyes to conceal his identity.

Store security cameras show the armed man leaving the store at 2:52 p.m. Although the picture is not of high quality, one image shows the perpetrator full face.

While it had not been officially confirmed by early Tuesday evening, the same man is believed to have held up a Tupelo business place earlier Tuesday afternoon.

Persons with information that might help lead to an arrest are asked to contact Crime Stoppers of North Mississippi or the New Albany Police Department  at 662-534-2222.
