Auria Stephens, 89

January 2, 1935 – September 4, 2024

Mandeville, Louisiana, formerly of Tupelo – Auria Wilson Stephens, 89, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at Greenbriar Community Care Center in Slidell, Louisiana.

Auria was born January 2, 1935, in Peterborough, England, to the late Arthur and Doris Wilson. She later moved to the United States, where she and her beloved husband, Kenneth K. Stephens, built a beautiful life together. They were married for 58 wonderful years until his passing on June 9, 2021. A skilled hairdresser, Auria served her community for many years with kindness and dedication. She was a devoted member of First United Methodist Church in Verona; her faith was a constant source of comfort and strength. Auria had a love for reading and crafting, and she found joy in the creativity of these hobbies brought to her life.

Auria is survived by one son, Ian Stephens; one granddaughter, Rebecca Stephens; and one sister, Jennifer Phillips of Peterborough, England.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Services honoring Auria’s life will be 2 p.m., Sunday September 8, 2024, at Verona United Methodist Church with Rev. Jeremy Funderburk. Graveside services will follow at Lee Memorial Park. Pegues Funeral Directors is entrusted with the arrangements.
