Author Erin Austen Abbott will discuss the various considerations of Small Town Living

,

The beauty of small-town living is the topic of Museum Moments with author Erin Austen Abbott on August 21, 12 noon at the Union County Heritage Museum in New Albany. This is the second in a series of the annual Literary Fest.

Abbott, a Water Valley resident, is the author of three books – the latest being Small Town Living. Living in a large city has its conveniences – shopping, more career opportunities, more cultural events, more sports teams – but the cost is also higher.

There is also a downside – cost of living is higher, it’s more crowded and the pace of living is faster. Some of the things that make New Albany and other small towns so attractive is that this is the antidote to big city life.

Erin writes that there are no strangers, no secrets and that lives are more bound together in a small town. With more opportunities of working remotely – small towns are becoming the goal of many who want more open spaces, more family friendly towns and simpler lives.
