Tupelo Post Office to be named for long-time Vietnam POW and “Tap Code” author, Col. Carlyle Harris
The Tupelo Post Office is to be renamed the Colonel Carlyle “Smitty” Harris Post Office, in honor of Ret. Colonel Carlyle Harris, an 8-year POW and author of “Tap Code.” The bill has been passed by both houses and is awaiting the President’s signature.
