Ballet Magnificat! performed “Hiding Place” at the Magnolia Theater
On March 5, Ballet Magnificat! performed “Hiding Place” at the Magnolia Theater. This dance company is dedicated to spreading the Christian message through the art of ballet, and even offers dance classes and student companies. “Hiding Place” tells the inspiring true story of a woman’s bravery in Nazi Germany. The ballet is inspired by the true story of the ten Boom family.
Ballet Magnificat! was founded in 1986 by Keith and Kathy Thibodeaux as the world’s first professional Christian ballet company, which presents the good news of Jesus Christ to the whole world. It opened a School of the Arts in 1989 offering dance classes to students aged 3 through adult. The school’s student companies, Magnificat! Youth Ballet and MiniMag!, regularly perform at local nursing homes, schools, and churches.
In the same year, the Summer Dance Intensive and Teachers Workshop were started, attracting hundreds of students annually from around the world to Jackson, MS, for a unique technical and spiritual experience.
