NEW ALBANY, Miss. – On Saturday July 19, despite looming clouds and the threat of rain, approximately 700 community members gathered at Baptist Hospital in New Albany for a highly successful Back-to-School Health Fair.

The Back-to-School Fair was focused on providing essential health and safety information, as well as backpacks and other school supplies. The goal was to help students up to 12 years of age get off to a good start. It brought together students, families, and a multitude of community resources to prepare for the upcoming academic year.

The hospital’s commitment to the community was evident as 40 exhibitors were on-site, offering a wide array of back-to-school assistance. From educational resources to health services, the diverse booths provided valuable support to students and their parents. Participants enjoyed a complimentary ‘brown bag’ lunch, which included a hot dog, chips, a cookie, and a refreshing drink, adding to the festive atmosphere of the day.

The large turnout, even with the possibility of inclement weather, underscored the significant need for and appreciation of Baptist Hospital’s community-focused initiatives in New Albany.
