Barbara Ann Ball O’Neal

March 3, 1955 – September 12, 2024

Barbara Ann Ball-O’Neal was born March 3, 1955 to the late Wilbert and Gertrude Ball. She attended Pontotoc City School. She professed a hope in Christ at an early age at Wilson Chapel MB Church and later joined New Lebanon MB Church where she remained faithful until her death.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, thrifting, and inviting people to come to her house to eat. She retired from Hancock Fabrics, where she worked for thirty-seven years. She loved her work family. Barb, or Bob as she was affectionately known as, transitioned to her heavenly home on September 12, 2024 at The Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo, MS.

She leaves to cherish her memories, two daughters: Traci Pratt (Eric) and Scherrie Goree (Reshod) both of Pontotoc, MS; three grandchildren, Jasmyne Hamilton (Dee) of Woodland, MS, Jameel O’Neal of Woodland, MS, and Ansley Goree of Pontotoc, MS; three great grandchildren, Rhylan Conley, Brynlee Kate Hamilton, and Liam O’Neal; four sisters, Shirley Walker of Tupelo, MS, Dorothy Garrett, Carrie Ball-Williamson (Troy), and Stephanie Ball of Pontotoc, MS; three brothers, James Lawrence Ball, Alvis Ball (Sandra) and David Ball (Jeannie) all of Pontotoc, MS; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbert and Gertrude Ball; one sister, Rachel Ball-Kimmons; one brother, Wilbert Terry Ball; and one special friend, JoAnn O’Neal.

Visitation will be Sunday, September 15, 2024, from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM at Payton Mortuary. Funeral service will be Monday, September 16, 2024, at 12:00 PM at New Lebanon MB Church, 3 North Coley Road, Tupelo, MS.
