Barbara Randle, 79
July 28, 1946 – May 30, 2026
Tupelo/Mantachie-Barbara Ann Camp Randle died peacefully on May 30, 2026, after 80 years defined by family, faith, a lot of fun, and the belief that strangers are just friends we haven’t met yet.
Born on July 28, 1946, to the late William Herman Camp and Gwendola McMillen Camp, Barbara grew up in Mantachie and attended IJC (it was always Itawamba Junior College to Barb) and then Ole Miss where she received her bachelor’s degree in music in 1969 and her master’s degree in music education in 1971.
Barbara was very proud of her four college degrees, and while she spent the majority of her decades long career in education with Mantachie schools as a speech therapist, she remained a talented pianist and organist her entire life. She was a longtime member of Mantachie Methodist Church and was honored to be the church organist for many years right up to her death.
She will be most remembered for making people happy with her food, never missing the opportunity to tell a sly joke or spread a little gossip, and for being the life of every party. Barbara loved seeing her friends and family, and she loved being seen—especially at The Stables where afternoons will never be quite the same.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Leslie Randle-Morton (Shawn) of Wilmington, North Carolina; her cherished siblings Felicia Jones (Terry), Karen McFerrin (Joe) and Bill Camp (Teresa) all of Mantachie, along with many extended family members on the Camp and Randle sides as well as countless friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of almost 20 years, William F. Randle, and her son, Will Randle.
Services celebrating her life will be held at 2:30 PM Thursday, June 4, 2026 in the Sadie M. Holland Memorial Chapel at Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo with visitation from 12 pm-2:15 PM. Private burial will follow in Lee Memorial Park in Verona.
