Beautiful weather, good food, great music, friends and more–Tallahatchie Riverfest, Photos Updated
Saturday night at the Tallahatchie Riverfest
A large crowd enjoyed music by the Eisenhauer Band, Raelyn Nelson and Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors before the evening’s headliner, Paul Thorn, took the stage with his excellent band of musicians. We missed Sam Mosely, who is recovering well from surgery, on the stage this year, but were happy to see him attending the festival and enjoying the music of his friend

Union County’s premier musician Sam Mosely had a special backstage seat while Paul Thorn and his band performed. Sam is making a good recovery from recent surgery and expects to soon be performing again himself . He and the musicians in the Paul Thorn Band go “way back.”

FRIDAY , SEPTEMBER 25TH:
With temperatures on the Tallahatchie River a little below 70 degrees the crowd at the first night of the Tallahatchie Riverfest 2015 stayed cool while the music was hot.

The perennial favorite north Mississippi band Spunkmonkees were the headliner act for the first night of Tallahatchie Riverfest 2015
Friday was also a good night to enjoy hot food from the dozen or more vendors arranged around the venue on the left bank of the river in downtown New Albany. Barbecue, hot dogs, funnel cakes, burgers, chicken-on-a-stick, there was something for every taste.

Caleb Childers, Lee Ann Herring-Olvedo and Brian Thomas of Cousin Bill’s Lagniappe offer, among other treats, barbecued pulled pork and New Orleans Style Boiled Peanuts at Riverfest 2015.
