Beverly Kaye Roberts Hickey, affectionately known as Beverly Hickey, passed away at her home after an extended fight against cancer on February 11, 2026, in New Albany, MS, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and unwavering dedication to her family, community, and her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Born on July 22, 1962, Beverly’s life was a testament to her spirited and faith-filled nature, and her passionate commitment to enriching the lives of those around her.
Beverly was the beloved daughter of Billy N. Roberts and Betty E. Wesson Roberts, who both preceded her in death. Her life was a reflection of the values they instilled in her from a young age. She is survived by her devoted husband, Kenneth Hickey, with whom she shared countless cherished moments. Her love and guidance will be forever remembered by her sons, Kyle Hickey (Veronica), and Kurt Hickey (Meghan), who will continue to carry her spirit in their hearts.
Her sisters, Becky Wescoat (Charlie), Brenda Barron (Dean), and Belinda Honeycutt, along with her brother-in-law, John Hickey (Annette), and sister-in-law, Mary Ann Hickey White (Jim), will miss her deeply. Beverly was a treasured aunt to several nieces and nephews, who will hold dear the loving memories and invaluable lessons she shared with them.
Beverly’s professional journey was marked by her dedication and excellence. She spent over two decades in the accounts payable department at Stratford, where she was respected for her meticulous work and amiable nature. She later transitioned to Blue Mountain Christian University, serving as the Executive Financial Aid Director for fifteen years. Beverly’s commitment to the students was unwavering, ensuring they had the resources necessary for their education. Her concern for future generations shone brightly in her work, earning her the affection and respect of all who knew her.
A devout Christian, Beverly’s life was a reflection of her deep faith. She was an active member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, serving in numerous roles including VBS Director, Sunday School Teacher, choir member, and WOW leader. Her involvement with Samaritan’s Purse, especially Operation Christmas Child, showcased her deep commitment to spreading joy and hope. Her early acceptance of Jesus as her personal Savior guided her through a life of service and devotion.
Beverly’s interests extended beyond her professional and religious commitments. She cherished her family immensely and took great joy in hosting them within her home. Known for being a wonderful cook, she often gathered friends and family around the table. Her life was a journey that took her across states and countries as she followed her father’s service in the US Air Force, eventually returning to MS where she graduated from Wheeler High School.
In her final wishes, Beverly urged her family to remain faithful and to always stay close to God. Her spirit, faith, and passion have left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know her. Beverly Kaye Roberts Hickey will be remembered as a beacon of love and a pillar of strength to her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched. Her memory will be cherished, and her presence sorely missed.
Services to honor her life will be Monday, February 16, 2026, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, at 2:00 pm with Bro. Jason Brassfield and Bro. Lou Zemek officiating, and burial at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. A visitation will be held Sunday afternoon, February 15, 2026, beginning at 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm at United Funeral Service. In lieu of flowers, you may make donations in her memory to Samaritans Purse for Operation Christmas Child, or Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
