Blake Canerdy, 45

December 31, 1980 – August 23, 2026

Jeremy Blake Canerdy, known to family and friends as Blake, passed away on August 23, 2026, at Baptist Memorial Hospital – Union County in New Albany, Mississippi, at the age of 45.

Blake was born on December 31, 1980, in Tupelo, Mississippi, and he lived a life marked by kindness, humor, and love for the people around him. He was a Christian and a member of New Harmony Baptist Church. Blake was saved while on a mission trip to Mexico, an experience that remained an important part of his faith and his testimony throughout his life.

Before his health declined, Blake worked for Union County, Mississippi, in Road Maintenance. He took pride in his work and was known for his dependable nature and willingness to help wherever he was needed. Those who knew him appreciated his easygoing spirit and the way he could bring a smile to others with his funny personality and warm heart.

Blake enjoyed the simple pleasures of life and found happiness in the outdoors. He loved fishing, hunting, and riding motorcycles, and he also enjoyed looking for arrowheads. He was a devoted Mississippi State fan and followed his team with enthusiasm. More than anything, he cherished time spent with his family, especially his nieces and nephews, whom he loved dearly. His presence at family gatherings brought joy, laughter, and a sense of comfort to those around him.

He is survived by his father, Roger Dale Canerdy; his mother, Kathy Miller Casper; his step-mother, Tonya Canerdy; and his two sisters, Carrie Canerdy and Ashley Fryar and her husband Kirk. Blake also leaves behind a loving extended family and many friends who will remember him for his kind heart, his loving nature, and the laughter he shared so freely.

Blake will be remembered as a man who loved his family, valued his faith, and lived with a spirit that touched the lives of others. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be at United Funeral Service on Wednesday, August 26, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and again on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until funeral service time at 2:00 p.m. Bro. Charlie Davis, Bro. Mike Mink and Bro. Josh Westmoreland will officiate. Burial will be at New Harmony Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Allen Pannell, Cory Hitt, Darren Timmons, Kirk Fryar, Rusty Grubbs, Hunter Canerdy, Derrick Timmons and Jimmy Whitfield.
