Bob Anglin, 80
June 16, 1944 – March 28, 2025
SHANNON – Robert Tulon “Bob” Anglin, 80, died Friday, March 28, 2025 at his residence in Shannon. Born on June 16, 1944 in Tupelo to Tulon and Hazel Dearman Anglin, Bob led an adventurous life loving God and his Creation, caring for his family and living large and in the moment. A man with a big heart and generous spirit, Bob graduated from Batesville High School and attended Northwest Miss. Community College.
A jack of all trades, he spent much of his career as a professional “over the road” truck driver. An outdoorsman, Bob loved hunting and fishing and going to duck camp. He enjoyed the land and often ran heavy machinery and equipment for area farmers. He raised hunting dogs in his spare time. A man with a love of community service, Bob served many years as a volunteer fireman in Verona and ultimately, graduated from the Miss. Fire Academy with full certification, working full time for the Verona Fire Department.
A great storyteller, Bob enjoyed spending time with his family, hanging out at Griggs in Shannon as well as area farm shops where good fellows gathered. He was a Master Mason in the Palmetto Lodge # 152 where he actively attended and participated the last several years. Bob enjoyed life and laughter and was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church-Verona but had attended First Baptist Church-Shannon the last decade. He will be missed by family and friends alike.
A celebration of life service will be held at 4 PM Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at Holland Funeral Directors in Tupelo with Dr. David Hamilton officiating. Visitation will be from 2 PM to service time Tuesday only at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Lee Memorial Park. For those unable to attend, the service will be live-streamed at 4 PM at hollandfuneraldirectors.com/live-streaming. Holland Funeral Directors – Tupelo Chapel is honored to serve the family.
Bob is survived by his wife, Carol Ann Anglin; his two daughters, Laura Anglin Sims (Shad) of Hernando, and Amanda Anglin Repult (Jimmy) of Guntown; grandchildren, Jake Sims (Alison) of Helena, AL, Anna Claire Brechin (Brandon) of Byhalia, Mac Sims of Southaven, Mary Carver Repult (Dylan McCord) of Guntown, and Jace Repult of Kingstown, OH; great-grandchildren, Rowan Brechin and Liam Brechin; his brother, Larry Anglin (Amelia) of Shannon; nieces, nephews, cousins and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tulon and Hazel Anglin.
Pallbearers will be Joe West, Tim West, Jake Sims, Brandon Brechin, Mac Sims, and Jace Repult. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenny Collier, Dooney Homan, Carol Homan, Doug Winters, Buddy Jones, Lance Crawley, and Blake Johnson.
