Bob Parker, 85

March 29, 1940 – October 25, 2025

Tupelo- Robert “Bob” Parker, age 85, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at his home. Born on March 29, 1940, to Estelle Tinsley Parker and Fred Parker, Bob lived a full and meaningful life devoted to his family, his work, and his many passions.

Bob proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1959 to 1967. During his service, he attended electronics school and later taught there for four years, sharing his knowledge and dedication with others. After his military career, Bob continued his work in technology as a Computer Engineer with Lockheed Martin, where he played a key role in installing air traffic control systems at airports across the nation, which was a contribution that left a lasting impact on aviation safety and innovation.

Outside of his professional life, Bob was a man of many joys. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and playing chess. He had a deep appreciation for blues music, a good cigar, and could never resist the chance to dance. In his younger years, he was also an avid golfer who enjoyed spending time outdoors with friends and family.

Above all, Bob cherished his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose warmth, humor, and wisdom will be deeply missed. He shared 45 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Elsie Hallmark Parker, whom he married on October 3, 1966. Bob’s legacy lives on in the countless memories he created and the love he gave so freely to those around him.

He is survived by his children, Michael Robert Parker and his wife, Elishia, of Moorville and Debbie Parker Knight and her husband, Allen, of Saltillo; grandchildren, Akay Knight, Reid Knight (Alex Cramer), Robert Jones (Skylar), Erin Jones, Austin Parker (Morgan), Brayden Parker (Audrey), and Elijah Brannon; great-grandchildren, Mylee Jones, Wattson Jones, Kinsley Parker, and Remi Parker; and sister, Evelyn Parker.
