Bob Wages

August 31, 1938 – March 2, 2019



 

Robert “Bob” C. Wages, 80, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2019 at his home. He was born August 31, 1938 in the Parks Community to the late J. C. and Carmen Coley Wages. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He had worked for the New Albany Police Department and retired as the New Albany Building Inspector.

He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and was very active in the choir and the singing group, Ever Lasting Hope. He was also a member of the Lions Club, a Mason and a Shriner. He was a member of the Board Zoning Commission and also on the Board of New Haven School.

Funeral services will be 11:00a.m. Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at United Funeral Service with Bro. Don Chandler officiating. Burial will be at Vista Memorial Park. United Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.

He is survived by his wife, Pat Quarles Wages; a daughter, Lisa Wages; a brother Bill Wages; and a grandson, Walt Lyons (Cristina).

He was preceded in death by two daughters, Julia Ann Wages and Mary Ella Wages; his parents and a brother, Jim Wages.

Pallbearers will be Dr. Tim Thompson, Chris Robertson, John Ellis, Curtis Tate, Clay Keener and Chad Glasson. Honorary pallbearers will be the Tommy Henderson Sunday School Class and the American Legion, who will conduct military honors.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 5, 2019 from 5:00p.m. till 8:00p.m. at the funeral home.

In honor of Mr. Wages’ service to his country, United Funeral Service will fly the U.S. Navy Flag during his visitation and funeral service.
