Bonnie Deaton, 71
May 11, 1954 – September 2, 2025
Bonnie Carolyn Dillard Deaton passed away at the age of 71 on September 2, 2025, at the Baptist Memorial Hospital/Desoto in Southaven, MS. She was born on May 11, 1954, in New Albany, MS.
As the beloved wife of the late J.C. Deaton, Bonnie was the heart of her family, a role she embraced with every fiber of her being. She was the caring daughter of Elmo Dillard and Frances Faye Fooshee Dillard, both of whom preceded her in passing, along with her siblings Billie Ruth Deaton, Brenda Dillard, and Terrell Wayne Dillard. Her spirit lives on in her two devoted daughters, Cindy Lee and Amanda Deaton; her son, Michael Deaton; and her siblings Peggy Smith, Betty Dye (Gerald), and Barbara Deaton, along with her brother Steve Dillard. Bonnie’s legacy includes ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, each a testament to her boundless love and nurturing presence.
Bonnie’s life was marked by her Christian faith and dedication to her family. She took on the role of a homemaker with pride and grace, ensuring a warm and loving home for her family. Her support extended beyond her household, as she often helped her daughter at the store, winning the hearts of the customers who affectionately called her “Mama”. Bonnie’s presence at the store not only helped the business thrive but also served as a place of laughter and community.
Bonnie’s pastime pleasures included buying lottery and scratch-off tickets, yet her greatest joy was found in the smiles and laughter of her grandchildren, to whom she dedicated much of her time. Known for her loving nature, her humor, and her approachable, friendly demeanor, Bonnie’s contribution to the lives of those around her was as immense as it was immeasurable.
Bonnie Carolyn Dillard Deaton will be profoundly missed, but her memory will be cherished forever by her loving family, her friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
