Brenda Dell Golden Hamilton, 71
January 9, 1955 – September 14, 2026
Brenda Dell Golden Hamilton was born on January 9, 1955, in Pontotoc, Mississippi, to Nunny and Alma Dale Golden. Brenda attended Pontotoc Attendance Center before moving to the Pontotoc City School District.
Brenda was united in holy matrimony to Arzell “Moonie” Berry. To this union, two children were born, a daughter, Tiffany, and a son, Draper. Brenda later remarried to the late Willie Hamilton.
Brenda accepted Christ at a young age at Usher Valley United Methodist Church, where she remained a faithful member until her passing.
Ms. Brenda began working at the age of thirteen and continued working until she became ill. Mother always said, “I’m going to work until I die,” and she did just that. Her strong work ethic was a defining part of who she was.
To know Mother was to love her. Ms. Brenda truly loved living life. She enjoyed traveling, dining at fine restaurants, shopping, attending gospel singings and blues concerts. She loved to dance and would two-step anywhere she heard good music.
Mother also had a special appreciation for antique furniture and classic cars. She often said, “classic stuff never goes out of style”. Ms. Brenda will be fondly remembered for her hats, which she loved dearly. Later in life mother became a wonderful cook and found great joy in preparing meals for her family, especially for her brothers.
Ms. Brenda leaves to cherish her memories one daughter: Tiffany Lyons, one son: Draper Hill, one granddaughter: Chinna Hill, one grandson: Taylor (Morgan) Lyons, two great grandchildren (The Little People) Israel and Isabell Hopkins, all of Pontotoc Ms. One sister: Elder Bobbie Nell Evans of Beloit, Wi, Five brothers: Dexter (Ether) Golden, Houlka Ms., Walter (Martha) Golden, Excell (Mary) Golden, Barry Golden, Glen (Regina) Golden all of Pontotoc, Ms. One special sister-in-law Mary Golden of Beloit, Wi. One aunt Doris Gardner of Pontotoc, Ms. Two special nieces: Elder Candice Frison, Jackson Tn and Nicole Benson, Pontotoc, Ms. ALL her nephews were special to her. The host of nieces and cousins held a special place in mother’s heart.
Ms. Brenda was preceded in death by her husband Willie Hamilton, her parents: Nunny and Alma Dale Golden, paternal grandparents: Walter and Hager Golden, maternal grandparents: Sam and Sarah Davis, sister: Dorothy Gregory, brothers: Nunny (Bill) Golden, RL Golden, Marvin Golden and John Albert Golden. One brother-in-law: John (Tomm) Gregory. A host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be Friday, September 25, 2026, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Payton Mortuary. Family hour will be from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Funeral service will be Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Usher Valley United Methodist Church, 754 Moorman Road, Pontotoc, MS.
