Brenda Gresham, 73

August 9, 1951  –  January 22, 2025

Brenda Jamieson Gresham, affectionately known as Brenda to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2025, at the age of 73 in Desoto County, Mississippi. Born on August 9, 1951, in New Albany, Mississippi, Brenda was the cherished daughter of Franklin Thomas Jamieson and Etoyle Kirk Jamieson. Her life was a testament to her creative spirit, loving nature, and passionate dedication to those she held dear.

Brenda’s early years in New Albany laid a strong foundation for a life filled with love, laughter, and service to others. Her journey led her to touch the lives of many, both through her work and her personal endeavors. After retiring from over two decades of driving a school bus, Brenda continued to nurture and support her community, embodying the warmth and caring that those around her had come to know and love.

Survived by a close-knit and loving family, Brenda’s memory will be cherished and kept alive by her two daughters, Kenya Barnett (Steve) and Leah McIntosh (Brad); two sons, Jason Gresham (Stephanie), and Kelly Gresham (Tracy); two sisters, Geneva Ferrell, and Judy Wilson (Steve). Her legacy will also live on through her eleven treasured grandchildren, Isaac Gresham, Jason Gresham II, Jon Tyler Gresham, Morgan Gresham Hall (John), MaKayla Powers, Clayton Powers, Caroline McIntosh, Kirk McIntosh, Lee Kathryn McIntosh, and Lucas Gresham, as well as her two adored great-grandchildren. Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Franklin and Etoyle Jamieson, and by her brother, Lee Norris Jamieson.

Brenda was a woman of many interests and talents. Her passion for cooking was well-known, especially within her church community where she often prepared meals with love and care. Her vegetable garden was a source of pride and joy, and she delighted in sharing its bounty with friends and family. Brenda’s creative abilities shone brightly through her sewing, a skill she once used to serve the public and continued to enjoy throughout her life.

Her love for children was evident not just in her professional career but also in her personal life, as she babysat many children in her home, offering them the same warmth and kindness she gave her own family, as everyone called her “Granny”. Brenda’s nurturing spirit was a comfort and blessing to all the young lives she touched.

Brenda’s friends were an important part of her life, and she cherished the moments spent with them. She held a special place in her heart for beach trips with her dear friends, Margaret and Patricia, where they created lasting memories.

Described by those who knew her as creative, loving, and passionate, Brenda’s influence was far-reaching. Her presence was a beacon of light, and her actions were driven by a genuine desire to make the world a better place for her family and community.

As we say goodbye to Brenda Jamieson Gresham, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a journey completed with grace. Her spirit will continue to guide and inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her. Brenda’s memory will be honored not just in the stories shared and the laughter remembered but also in the countless ways she made life brighter for those around her.
