Brenda Jeanne Payne Crumpton, 64

December 16, 1960 – September 25, 2025

After a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer, our beloved mother, sister, Mamaw, and friend, Brenda Jeanne Payne Crumpton, age 64, met the promises of her Savior and peacefully entered her Heavenly Home on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at her daughter’s home in Tippah County, surrounded by the warmth and love of her family. Even in her final days, Brenda’s strength, faith, and radiant spirit reminded everyone that light can shine brightest in the darkest of valleys.

Funeral Services honoring Brenda’s life will be held at 12 Noon on Monday, September 29, 2025, in the Heritage Chapel of the Ripley Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 11 AM until service time. Burial will follow at the Calvary Cemetery in Benton County.

Born on December 16, 1960, in Ludington, Michigan, Brenda was the daughter of the late Ervin Charles and Mildred Rosedel Ewing Payne. She graduated from Mason County Central before moving to Mississippi in 1991, where she built her life and raised her family. Brenda worked tirelessly as a factory worker at Benchcraft and Red Cap until her retirement, known for her steady hands, tireless energy, and unwavering dedication.

On May 25, 1999, Brenda married the love of her life, Mr. Denver Crumpton, and together they shared twenty-four years filled with laughter, devotion, and simple joys. Their union was a testimony to true companionship until his passing on April 26, 2023.

A woman of faith and a believer in Jehovah Witness, Brenda’s deepest joy was found in her family. Her love knew no bounds. She was the heartbeat of every holiday, turning Thanksgiving into a feast of love and laughter, ensuring her table was always filled with warmth, delicious food, and the closeness of family. She delighted in shopping for her grandchildren, always searching for that “perfect something” to light up their faces. Known affectionately as Mamaw, it was a title she wore with the greatest pride, pouring herself into the role with unshakable devotion.

Brenda was also a lover of life’s simple blessings—caring for her pets with tenderness, being a faithful mother, helping raise her grandchildren, and always being that friend who lifted spirits with a smile or a kind word. She was a ray of sunshine, brightening every room she entered.

What made Brenda’s story so extraordinary was the way she lived even after her cancer diagnosis. While her body grew weak, her spirit never wavered. She continued to laugh, to care, to comfort, and to love with all her might. To her family and friends, she was not defined by her illness, but by the unshakable strength and grace she carried through it. Her courage inspired all who knew her, and her faith in her Saviors promises remained steadfast until her final breath.

Though she is no longer with us physically, her light will forever guide her family, her legacy of love will never fade, and her memory will remain a blessing to all whose lives she touched.

Those left to cherish her memories include four daughters, Amanda Mason, Collene Jones (Corey), Brandy Brown Hart (Jackie), and Karen Adams (Roger), two sons, Robert Denver Crumpton and Justin Brown (Stacy), five sisters, Virginia Davis (Melvin), Karen Garcia, Darlene Dirkse (Roger), Dianne Hartley (Ward), and Jeanette Harris, two brothers, Ervin Payne, Jr. and Douglas Payne, 17 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents and husband.
