“Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die” John 11:25
On the morning of January 20, 2025, our sister in Christ, Brenda Kay Kent Wommack, 74, entered into the land of living, after she departed her earthly home at Diversicare Health and Rehabilitation, surrounded by loved ones.
Funeral Services honoring Ms. Brenda’s life will be at 1 PM Wednesday January 22, 2025, at Faith Fellowship Church in Ripley, with her son in law, Bro. Warren Harrell sharing words of comfort. Visitation will be from 11 AM until time of service on Wednesday January 22, 2025, at Faith Fellowship Church.
Born September 9, 1950, in Brownsville, Tennessee, Ms. Brenda was the daughter of the late Clarence and Annie Bryant Kent. She received her education from Pine Grove High School and was a woman of many talents. Ms. Brenda wore many hats, as she was employed with Foot Caress for multiple years, worked in the restaurant industry, and even helped ruff buildings in the Tennessee area. Above all, her favorite title she wore, was that of a caring mother, loving grandmother, and true friend to so many.
A faithful member of Faith Fellowship Church, Ms. Brenda was fully dedicated to her Lord, always available to serve in activities through her church and help anyway possible. She was a fierce woman, holding fast to her beliefs, quick to assist others with her opinion, and offer advice to those willing to listen. Although she never failed to speak her version of the truth, Ms. Brenda’s big heart was clear to see by all. Her home was a safe place for any stray animal, as she made certain they never went hungry, especially “Honey”, who she rescued many years ago and absolutely adored. Family was important to her, for she loved them most, always looking forward to spending time with them and doing her best to support them. If there was one thing Ms. Brenda was, that is– determined. She always gave it her all, and her memory will continue to live on and inspire strength, dedication, and generosity in those whose life she impacted most.
Those left to cherish her memory include one daughter, Sherry Harrell (Bro. Warren), one brother, Bobby Kent, sister-in-law, Carolyn Kent, six grandchildren, Delaney Williams (Brian), Matt Harrell (Amber), Christy Harrell, Loretta Cox (Robert), Sam Harrell, and Zoe Harrell, ten great grandchildren, and many friends, cousins, and family
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by one daughter, Theresa Hughes, and two brothers, Charles and Kenneth Kent.
